What does a sleep consultant do?

A sleep consultant educates on sleep science. This helps you, the parent, understand the “why” behind the changes we’ll make. A sleep consultant creates an individual plan for your family to meet your specific goals, and supports you every step of the way.

How is this achieved?

Goals are met by, first, learning a whole bunch about you and your family! A virtual consultation is held, and then a written sleep plan is customized and delivered to you. The method in which you chose to use varies, and can be altered to fit your parenting style. Sleep is tracked with a sleep log, and support is given through daily communication (text, e-mail, and/or phone!)

When & Why should I start?

You can start teaching your baby healthy sleep habits from day 1! The newborn consultation is a great place to start, however, it is never too late to improve your child’s sleep. Even older toddlers thrive with changes in routine, schedule, and introducing healthy sleep habits.

The Why? There is no right or wrong answer here. Personally, I found motherhood more fulfilling, and could be a more attentive mom, once I was well rested. But it’s not just about the parents; A well rested child thrives, and it’s amazing to see the changes.

The most important thing is you are ready to make changes and be consistent. Start when YOU want to.

Who?

Your sleep consultant is going to be listening to your goals, needs, and wishes. You’ll be speaking daily and often, you should hire someone you like!

It’s important to me to provide consistent encouraging support to your family while giving you the tools to succeed. I believe implementing healthy sleep habits, and improving sleep doesn’t have to be all or nothing. I enjoy working with different parenting styles, and customizing plans to fit your goals?
